Dayton-Made Game Bringing Fantasy Fun and Debate to Life

October 11, 2024

What began as a school project has blossomed into Fairy Tale Campaign Trail, a Dayton-born party game filled with imagination, creativity, and laughter. Co-founders Christina Hauber and Arun Nirula developed the game in a classroom, and its popularity quickly grew. London Bishop, who joined to help with marketing and business, believes in the game’s unique ability to spark creativity.

“In the development phase, we heard a lot from parents and teachers that would love a card game of our type for their children and students,” London shares. “It’s a game that stretches one’s creative muscles, builds children’s social skills, and enables the people at the table to build a shared world together.” This shared experience is more than just a game—it’s a tool for teaching communication, collaboration, and imagination, creating moments of joy that form bonds for a lifetime.

At its heart, Fairy Tale Campaign Trail invites players to solve ridiculous problems with even more absurd solutions. Imagine debating how to fix a dragon’s behavior or solve a town’s unicorn crisis—there’s no real-life political stress here, just fun.

“Our game is designed to be a light-hearted, imaginative experience that celebrates creativity and community rather than conflict,” London explains.

Though fun is at the forefront, the creators are dedicated to making the game a rich, immersive experience. Christina and Arun, the artists behind the project, have spent two years carefully hand-drawing every card. The art is a point of pride, and the team is committed to bringing this vision to life with care and attention to detail.

Now, after years of hard work, they’re ready to share Fairy Tale Campaign Trail with the world through their Kickstarter campaign. Backers will receive exclusive first access to the game, which won’t be available in stores. By supporting the campaign, you’re not only helping a local Dayton company but also contributing to a game that promotes creativity, laughter, and human connection—something the world could always use more of.
