Gem City Awards Luncheon 2025

Every year, we’re blown away by the amazing nominations we get from our fellow peers that highlight both big and small public relations projects and campaigns. We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone at this year’s Gem City Awards on Tuesday, May 20 at the Dayton Children’s Inspiration Center beginning at 11:30am.

This is our region’s biggest and best PR awards program. We welcome all professionals: for profit and not-for-profit, large agencies and small teams, marketing campaigns and terrific tactics. Show us the work you are most proud of!

The competition is open to both PRSA members and non-members who work or live in the Dayton area.

A panel of PR professionals in New York will judge the PR award entries and the individual awards. Eligible projects must have been completed in the last 12 months and demonstrate research, planning, execution, results, and support materials.

Doors will open at 11:15.
11:30am: Registration and lunch hour begins
12:00 pm: Announcements and opening remarks
12:30pm: Program and Award Presentations

Recognizing Communications Leaders – The Individual Awards

We will celebrate the PR leaders, programs, and projects that are at the top of their game in the following categories:

  • Communications Professional of the Year: This award will honor an area communicator with 20 or more years of experience who is at the top of their game. This individual does not need to be a PRSA member, but history looks kindly on those who are.
  • Young Professional of the Year: Given to a professional with five or less years of professional experience who is making a positive impact on the field of PR.
  • Media Friend of the Year: Nominate an individual working in the media who has been instrumental in building a trusting professional relationship that has benefitted your organization or client and the public.
  • Newsmaker of the Year: This award will honor a Dayton area person who is not a professional communicator but whose communications acumen and media savvy have advanced our community in a positive way.
